eating scraps

** warning! Might be a little gross if you are a germ freak! (which we are not because we live on a farm...you learn to not sweat the small stuff)

Brad and Gage were off riding the golfcart and spraying the fence together. Carson was busy playing with Heaven...yep more of those volcanoes in the chicken pen. They have also started buiding a clubhouse too! Toby and I had scraps leftover from the weekend and who better to give them too but the chickens. They make a funny sounds when we bring them our food scraps. It is a different sound from when we are just feeding them cracked corn and laying crumbles.

Toby loves his chickens and loves to watch them eat! Toby reached in and got a green bean right on top before I could stop him. Then Miss Bertie decided she wanted to have a taste too!

the best 7 years...

Yep...today marks 7 years that we have spent together. We have had a fun 7 years too! Never thought 10 years ago God would have given me this man and we would have 3 little boys together. Nothing too exciting happened today. Brad did tell the office staff that it was our anniversary so this morning when I ran to the office during break to get some copies made several of them said "happy anniversary". I said "yep it was the best move that boy made asking me to marry him." They said "that's exactly what Coach Smith told us this morning but it was the best move you had ever made." Little do they know we are always joking about this around our anniversary time. We did go on a golfcart ride with all the boys of course looking for deer and rabbits. We asked Gage to take our picture so we could remember our 7th anniversary and how we spent it. He was so excited to get to take our picture...he was telling us..."say cheese mama and daddy!" The big excitement of the evening is that I went to the local grocery store today and bought 2 (yes 2) flavors of sherbert (we are trying to watch our weight that is why I did not get Blue Bell!)...pinapple and twisted cactus. We are wild and crazy huh? So I guess I need quit the blog tonight so I can go snuggle on the couch with Bradley, watch football (oh fun), and eat lots of sherbert! I love you so much Bradley...thank you for such a super fun 7 years and many more adventures to come...

america's future...yikes

This is something I would expect to see on The Jay Leno Show...not in my classroom! I have taught 9th graders for the past 6 1/2 years and I have never had this happen. What is this world going to do when the teenagers of this world are in their prime trying to "run" this world? This my friend is a scary thought after I show you what one student did in my class. See question number 4. Look at the answer real close. Can you see what she put? Yep...the word "word bank." Yikes...look out world...here they come!

I had to end on a positive note...my smart little boy doing his homework!

Happy Bday Colt!

Colt Puckett is 4! We had a great time celebrating his birthday at his new house in his big backyard. The cupcake cake was too cute and it was a huge hit among all the kids. Adults loved it too because the cake was already cut...just grab a piece! Colt got a couple Bob the Builder DVDs which we are HUGE fans of if you don't remember that post click HERE!

Colt and Gage are trying to decide which cupcake to eat first...I lost count of how many they ate. What matters most is that they had a wonderful time together on their sugar filled high!
Earlier in the day they all had a blast on the waterslide. You would have thought Toby was the same age at Colt and Gage...he hung right with them! Can't you tell how much fun he's having!
I love this picture of Colt! He was so happy to be on that waterslide with his buddy Gage!

Gage slid down and bumped Colt who had not had a nap that day...in about 3 seconds after we told him that he was going to be ok...he was back at climbing up the slide. See what I mean about Toby...just hanging with the big boys!

These 2 are such buddies! I just eat them up!
Happy Birthday Colt! I love you very much!

wal-mart motorcycle

At the lovely local wal-mart where I grocery shop, they have the "coolest" motorcycle game. Well, each time we go if the boys behave they get a $1 ride on the motorcycle...hey...it's better than chips or candy and costs the same amount! So after we shop and check out we get our money ready. Carson is pretty good at it...Gage is not so good just yet! We draw quite a crowd sometimes b/c I have 3 small boys with me and Carson is usually cheering Gage on quite loudly while he is driving! I wanted you to be able to experience what I get to...so enjoy!

Carson came in 5th place!

Gage is SO serious when he is driving.

Carson is cheering Gage on and he so wants to jump in and help him win the race b/c he can tell that Gage is not as good of a driver as him. I have very competitive boys!

brothers have fun

Gage and Toby have so much fun together and today was another one of those moments that I had to capture on camera! Carson and Heaven were hard at work in the chicken pen building a fort and working on their volcanoes!

Last night after our church we were listening to our new cd Gage's teacher gave him after his choir program. A classical music piece came on and Gage "oooo Mama I like this one" I said "oh Gage isn't it pretty music?" He replied "yeah Mama it's Tom & Jerry music!" It caught me off guard...but we watch Tom & Jerry each morning as we eat breakfast and if her have ever watched it...there are very few words and only classical music. Gage was pretty sharp to make that association of classical music in the bathtub and Tom & Jerry cartoons in the morning. Gotta write this one down in the book!

Gage Summer Choir Presentation

Tonight we had the 3 yr old summer music choir program. It was very simple and sweet. They had it in their classroom. The kids sang for us and they ate snacks. Ayden and Gage were having a super good time eating popcorn before they started singing.

This was not a spectacular show of Gage...he sang the song much better when we got home and he was in the bathtub...go figure! He had popcorn in his mouth the entire time and it was sort of frustrating...but that is how 3 yr olds are I guess! Avery knew her part though and showed all those silly little boys up!

Then Avery got up and did her solo of "boomerang express" from VBS this summer and it was priceless! This really shows off her little personality!

Volcanoes in the chicken pen

Ok...I just have to share with you the imagination of my 5 year old, Carson. He is into digging these days and there is nothing more fun that digging dirt/dust out in the chicken pen under the barn and not just digging but digging huge holes in the ground that you refer to them as "volcanoes." That has been the task of this 5 year old for about a week now...any spare time he has...he is out digging volcanoes. He also got Heaven our friend across the street all involved. I just ask him to take off his good shoes and put on crocs...I'm not so concerned about the clothes b/c I do wash daily! Here are Heaven and Carson with their newest volcano. Check out Gage laying in the dust/dirt...that just totally grosses me out! But I'm reminded by my husband to just let it go b/c they (my boys) are totally washable at the end of the day and to let them be boys...so let them be boys is what I do! Look...they even got Toby all involved.

Toby still loves to feed the chickens and to watch them eat...he gets the food out of the feeder and throws it at them!
When Gage, Toby and I returned from GG and Top's house we brought with us a few shirts for Carson as a happy. He loved the one he has on in this picture b/c it has a monster truck on it and we are all about monster trucks at our house now days! I just eat these stinkin' boys up!

Videos GG's 5 of 5

Here are several videos I took on our short trip to see GG and Top. I couldn't pick just one so I had to share many (5 in all)...enjoy!

Toby thought the sand on the beach was just great. It was his first time to ever see or be on the beach. He loved the texture of the sand and how it felt when it went through his fingers...

Gage walked out into the Gulf with GG where there were sandbars. He thought jumping over the waves was way too cool. He would also swim through my Mom's legs and just crash into the water!

My Mom has a big tub with jets. So she got some Mr. Bubble and we added some bubbles to the water...it wasn't enough...so I added MORE. Well then we turned on the jets and well...let's just say...we had WAY too many bubbles in our opinion...but to Gage and Toby it was just perfect!

Gage just being silly Gage...singing in the tub!

When we were at Cindy and Sam's farm, we got to play in their pool and Gage got to slide for the first time and had a blast doing it! Such a fun ending to such a fun trip!

The Farm GG's 4 of 5

After we went to the beach that Saturday morning we were coming back to wash off our legs and feet. Gage was about to have a stroke to take a picture of Mom and I...so here it is! He is such a mess.

Then...we headed out to visit some friends at their farm. Cindy, Sam, and Jeannie have a great tropical farm. Sam has a 1 yr old long horn bull named "stingray." We got to watch him feed him a bottle...and then Gage got to sit on Stringray for just a minute. Sam says he is going to ride him in the Mardi Gras parade...

They had a great pool that we got to enjoy. They even had a slide...Gage really loved it and I have a great video of him in Part 5. Lincoln their dog would run around the pool in circles when my boys were in the pool because he was just so excited that we all were there.

My boys felt right at home...they have free roaming chickens just like we do!

They even have rabbits! Gage really loved the rabbits especially this little bitty one!
Thanks Sam, Cindy, and Jeannie for such a fun afternoon at your house. If anyone hasn't tried the Which Wich, an awesome sub shop, do so! They even make their own potato chips.

Fun at GG's 3 of 5

When we went to Chick Fil A, Top took "lighting mcqueen" his little red sports car. Gage is big enough to ride now and he was so excited. He kept telling Top "go faster!"

Gage and I getting ready to watch Kung Fu Panda and eat ice cream and popcorn...YUMMY!

Mom got lots of "berries" for the boys to eat. Toby was the first to find the bowl and ate lots of "berries" for breakfast. Gage started some time ago calling grapes - berries...and so it just stuck! So you have green berries and purple berries!

Gage is my puzzle man. Mom found the perfect puzzle for him...a scenry puzzle and then you stick dinosaurs cut our pieces all around in the different areas. Gage wanted most of his dinosaurs to be in the water!

This is General Jubal! Yep...a new poodle! He was a cute little guy that loved to play with my boys.

Bubbles GG's 2 of 5

Ok...well after the beach then to Chick Fil A to eat...bathtime was the next order of business! Mom has a big tub with jets...and when you add bubbles...oh so much more FUN! Mounds of bubbles appeared when we turned on the jets and we would have to turn them off periodically to let the bubbles die down before starting them up again. At one point Toby dissappeared into the mound of bubbles and when he came up was covered in them! I have posted to videos of bubble time on the part 5 section...so check those out too!

Bubbles everywhere...

Priceless look on Toby's face!

Yep, this was after Toby came up for air after being submerged in the bubbles!
Gage could have stayed in the tub forever!
Toby getting good loving from GG!
Jubal (the new poodle) thought the boys in the tub were too much fun and really would have like to have joined them I think...He and Toby really hit it off as good buddies!
As if bubble bath was NOT enough, GG pulled out real bubbles...oh fun!
Silly Gage-Man!
THEN if those real bubbles were not enough...she pulled out the HUGE bubble maker! Going back to our bathtub with just a normal tub and bubbles will be not so interesting now...oh well...I guess that what it is all about...memories of bubbles in GG's tub!

Beach GG's 1 of 5

I took Gage and Toby down to see Mom (aka GG) and Ken (aka Top) for a short weekend trip. Right when we turned onto Hwy 90 Gage quickly hollered "look Mama it's the beach!" GG greeted up as the door and we went up for yummy popscicles then honored Gage's wishes and headed across the road to the beach! How much fun they both had! It was Toby's first time to see the beach. Gage was loving all of the "big water!" Rhett, mom's poodle, even got to go with us. Gage couldn't stay still for 2 seconds...he was everywhere...all over the beach!

Toby was such a busy little bee find differnt sticks to throw into the water. He loved the sand and how it felt to him in his hands.
Gage allowed GG to take him out a little ways that first afternoon to a nearby sandbar. And he quickly realized that the water was saltwater and decided to start closing his mouth when he would splash.

I love this picture of Toby...just taking it all in on his first trip to the beach!
We decided to make a sandcastle and even topped it off with a moat, bridge, and a flag on top! FUN!

We went back the next morning and Gage was much more brave. He and GG walked way out to more sandbars. In the Part 5 of 5 there will be a cute video of him jumping the waves. Toby loved sitting in my lap watching all of the birds eat breakfast.
