Fall Tablescapes at Church

Here is it. Fall Tablescapes. Ooooo well a bit over-the-top compared to mine.
Here is one with christmas lights...pretty
Here is one with peacock feathers...love it.
And one with ball hanging from the ceiling...
Saving the BEST for last...last but not least...
Here is my "creature" table. It was fun.

getting ready for fall tablescapes

I signed up for a table to decorate at church this past Monday night for "fall tablescapes." I had NO clue what I was getting myself into b/c the directions were not very clear. Just decorate a table with a fall theme. I can do that...so I signed up.
Mom and Gage worked on my napkin rings and some of my "creatures." I did the rest the past weekend to make them a few extra "friends!" These 2 ladies made of buckeyes and moss were my absolute favorite.
Found this bird feather and the topper to a sawtooth acorn made a great hat.
These sorta look like my sea creatures...just wait until tomorrow. I was sooo out done in the decorating department. But you know me...I beat to the beat of a different drum. I did my own thing and gave myself the award of the most kid-friendly table. Heck any of those parents kids would have wanted to sit at my table. I had fun...

Family Life Center

Our family life center opened a week or so ago...it is sooo nice. I just know that God has so many ways He's gonna use this place. Megan, Gage, and I have gone by after school several times...I get to run/walk, Gage plays ball with his friends, and Megan socializes with a ball in her hand!
There are 4 basketball goals and a volleyball net. You check out the balls at the front desk.
The fellowship hall has enough room to fit us all in it with our anyone have to stand up!
This is upstairs...it's the cafe...I think the youth are gonna use it for their breakfasts...
Our really cool youth room. My Megan gave her testimony here. She did great and told everyone how God had been working in her life in the year 2010. I am so honored that my family can be apart of her testimony. She told me afterwards "I had it all written down what I was going to say but then I did not even need to look at my notes." I told her (just as my mom told me years ago) "the reason why you did not need to look at your notes is because God was there talking you through your entire testimony...you said just what He wanted you to say." She just smiled...I'm sooo proud of her!

musical practice

I was asked about 6 days in advance to be in our church summer musical. Usually would have said no to this but I just couldn't not say no this time...don't know why. I prayed God would give me the memory skills I needed to learn these lines quickly b/c this is sort of out of character for me. He has done just that...pulled me through and I know my lines!
Well Saturday morning we had practice. I had to take Gage and Toby with me. I will have pictures tomorrow of where Bradley was on his adventure!
I was attempting to occupy them by allowing them to write/draw on my script.
This is part of the crew up on stage during one of the scenes.
Then Gage resorted to tattooing himself all up...I could have cared less...as long as he was occupied and allowing me to practice my lines with the kids.
Emily decided that I needed to be in my blog...so she grabbed the camera and took a few pics! Thanks Emily. I have enjoyed working with these kids even if it's only been for a week!

FBC Youth Party

We had a youth party...lots of fun. It was a slip n slide party! Megan's idea (of course!) We had pizza and cookies...Lisa made peanut butter cookies and I guess I need the recipe because Toby ate 10 of them...no lie. I did not stop him. I let him have fun too...so 10 cookies was supper for him then a little later 2nd course was 2 pieces of pizza!
Here is the slip n slide...so much fun!
They also played in the lake...Nathan, Reid, Mackenzie, and Megan
Jesse, Carly, and Reagan.
Ummmm...John trying to wear Toby's lifejacket!
Great night...kids were awesome...great fellowship!

Church Egg Hunt

(includes lots of pictures)
Our church put on the best egg hunt for the kids this year. We were waiting for everyone to arrive and all the kids were playing...not Toby! He found a couple of eggs, sat down by our baskets, and proceeded to start opening and eating!
all the kids ready to hunt some eggs...
It didn't take long for Toby to get then hang of "egg hunting."
Gage and Ayden getting ready for the group picture.
Brad helping Gage hunt for some eggs...
Toby found lots of eggs!
I held his basket and he ran around and grabbed eggs and threw them in the basket.
Daddy and Gage ~ my egg hunters!
I had to run around and find Carson...he was with Seth!
Wow...this boy is an experienced egg hunter...he found lots with no help from us!
Then they got to get their faces painted. This was a first for them. The next morning Carson noticed that his football and rabbit were gone off his face and wanted me to paint them back on.
One side was not enough for Carson...he also wanted a blue rabbit to go along with his red football. Our friends (the Ammanns~Seth's family) would love Carson's color choice!
I just had to document that I was there too!

Carson's Solo in Big Church

Carson was asked to sing the 2nd verse of O Come All Ye Faithful this morning during big church. I was so nervous for him...he wasn't...he did great! I know it made Jesus' heart happy hearing Carson's voice. Just a short 2 1/2 years ago he didn't do much talking at all, but thanks to Magnolia Speech School, many prayers, and hard work...we were all blessed to hear him sing a solo in big church!

Mission Friends Christmas Program

We have fun! Jennifer, Me, Julie, Sydney, Candace, and Melissa are the brave souls that teach 2, 3, 4, and 5 year old mission friends...challenging yes, but sooooo rewarding and fun! We had our Christmas program last night during prayer meeting...it was an experience!
4 and 5 year olds
They spelled out Christmas and said a poem with it.
Carson and Crosby and "T: is for tidings of great new and joy" and they did a great job!
O...the 2 and 3 year olds were quiet the performers. They sang "I'm a little mission friend" to the tune of "I'm a little teapot." It's sorta a tradition with our class...a classic. Then they said their Bible verse "God grew in mind and strength and was loved by everyone" Luke 2:52 And we lost them when we started..."if you're happy and you know it."
"if you're happy and you know it then your face will surely show it...."
