frogging

Brad and 2 of his buddies (Phil and Jeffrey) went frogging in Vicksburg this past weekend.

They caught 37 of the biggest frogs I've even seen...ugh!

Carson was riding the four wheeler with Nana and Slick. But Gage and Toby were right up in all the business. They loved looking at the frogs because it was all new to them.

Some of them would start moving b/c they were thawing out (I know...yuck.) But they would spot one moving and starting yelling and hollering to the guys. It was funny...

This is the picture that I sent our local paper...I couldn't resist b/c it was too cute!

I was jealous I did not get invited. I would have loved this adventure. I told Brad my feelings ont he matter and he agreed that I would love it. He promises to take me soon...

Another turkey, Crazy Gage, and "Go Toby!"

Brad and Phil went hunting and got a nice small bird. We ate him for supper a few nights later...yum BBQ turkey bites on the grill! We (our friend Joe Toney does) season and grill them. When they are done we put them in a pan of BBQ sauce on the grill and let them simmer!
Gage and Brad being completely crazy...the goal is over 8 ft in the air!
Ummmm...look who is learning to pee off the porch!
(this picture should win me some money if I had a contest to enter it into)

First Turkey of the Season

Warning...contains pictures of Brad debreasting a turkey.
Brad has been very persistent. Hunting every morning. The turkeys have not been cooperating. But finally Brad got one on our land during spring break. Gage was the boy up at the time so he got to enjoy a little photo session with the bird.
Brad debreasting the turkey. Gage was watching every move he made. He kept saying "Daddy we don't eat it like that right?" Brad would reply "no man, we will cook him them eat him...it tastes like chicken...we love turkey!"
Brad showing Gage how you can pull on the tendons and make the turkey toes move.
Gage thought it was way too cool!
Then it was time to dish out the 2 legs to the 2 dogs that had been waiting so patiently for their part in this dead bird. They were pumped to have turkey leg for breakfast!

On the hunt for rabbits...

These boys had a blast rabbit hunting...Jeffrey, Toby, Carson, Brandon, Phil, Gage, and Brad
These 2 boys had the most fun of all though.
Toby was pumped when they all arrived back home to clean them.
O and just for the record...when we (well the boys in the family) shoot animals...we eat them. (except for the varments who kill things on our farm such as racoon and skunk...ugh) The bigger boys in the picture above are going to deer camp next weekend for one last whoorah and are going to each fried rabbit for one of their meals while I sit at home and probably eat a bowl of cereal celebrating the fact that I just don't have to cook!
