Toby's First BBQ Rib

We went to Sonny's BBQ tonight for supper. It was all of my crew except for Carson and our good friend Doug was with us. Toby was tired of eating crackers when we finally got our food. Doug was eating ribs and got finished with one and handed it to Toby. I wanted to grab it away but he insisted that Toby would LOVE it. I guess he knew better because Toby went to work on it and gnawed on it like he had never had food before. We were all just laughing at him.

Gage and Penelope (the cat)

Gage crashed on the couch the other day and Penelope crawled up on him and crashed too! I promise that I did not pose this picture...it really happened just like this. She is a very loving and affectionate cat and "puts up" with all of Gage's loving!

Christmas 2008

It was fun around our house. The boys love to cook so they got my woooden kitchen set that is 30 years old this year and new foods to go with it. They also got nerf guns...Gage had 30 darts stuck to our TV yesterday morning. Wild time at the Smith house. Oh and the best was when we all sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. Carson always sings that song at school so he taught us and we all sang it!

There no one like Gage!

Brad called me at the house and told me to run outside with the camera if I wanted a good shot. I had no idea what to expect...it was Gage covered in mud and having a great time. He is a mess! Carson was driving him around on the farm on the golf cart and they found a mud hole up by the barn and decided to have a little fun. They are 100% all boy...both of them!
We stripped Gage, hosed him off with the water hose, then sent him to the shower to warm up a bit. After I got him all dressed in dry clothes...he said "hey mama, ta da!"

Toby's First Big Lip!

Toby is crawling everywhere and is becoming very curious! He was in the other room and I heard a horrible scream. I ran in and there was blood everywhere...I guess he hit is just in the right spot. His poor lip swelled up so bad but it is much better now. Oh and he is doing great since his surgery. You would never know he had surgery with the way he has been acting.

Toby's surgery...he was a champ!

Toby was clapping his hands in this pictures that's why his hands are so blurry. He had tubes put in this morning and also had his ear tags and hemangioma removed from his ears and neck. After he woke up from surgery he never cried. I am very thankful for all who helped us today. He is doing great and not missing a beat since we have made it home.

Slick and Gage

Gage is very close to his Slick! That is Brad's daddy's silly grandparent name. I am super close to him and he is VERY special to us.

Carson's Christmas Program

Carson was a dressed in Christmas PJ's and his line for the program was "hey, I see Mary." He did great and sang his song loud and clear. We were so proud of him.

This is Carson's best buddy at school and we carpool with them to and from school since we have such a long drive each day. Taylor calls him "my Carson" and Carson says "my Taylor." They are a MESS! Taylor is deaf and has cochlear implants and is a lively as any other 5 year old. She is very special to us.

Baby Jesus played by Toby

At our Christmas program this year, Toby was asked at the last minute to be Baby Jesus! I had always wanted one of my boys to play Baby Jesus...Toby Wade did a GREAT job. He was so happy (as he is all the time). He clapped his hands and sucked his thumb occassionally. He got lots of compliments of playing the part so well...way to go Toby!

Gingerbread House at YaYa and Sams

Carson spent the night with YaYa (Carla) last night. They went to the Ag Museum to look at trains. Afterwards they were going to build a gingerbread house at Carlas. While still at the Ag Museum, Carson found some tools in the general store that he told YaYa that he had to have. Carla asked "why?" Carson replied "because we are building a gingerbread house tonight." He thought he was building a real house. Uncle Sam is a resident OBGYN and Carson found Sam's batman scrub hat and was instantly interrested.

Making Sweet Potato Casserole

Gage is my little chef! Everytime that I start cooking he is right under me trying to stir and mix things. We were making sweet potato casserole for a party and one for Christmas day.

John Deere Ornaments

Deborah and Terry Ozborn always send the boys John Deere Tractor ornaments. We got them in the mail yesterday and they had so much fun opening them. Toby wanted to eat his ornament! They had to hang them on the tree immediately after we opened them. Thanks Deb and Terry!!!

Family Pictures 2008

Add ImageAt Thanksgiving Brad's entire extended family got together. Carson said that blessing infront of this group of 30 people. We were so proud of him. Then this past weekend my family got together at our house. We decided to go ahead and get our family picture because Sam has to work all day on Christmas.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

It snowed at our house on Thursday, December 11. We got 6 inches...it snowed from 8am to 2pm. The boys had so much fun playing in it.

Carson's Spiderman Birthday

Carson turned 5 on December 5. We had 2 birthday parties for him...one at Magnolia Speech School and the other one at our house with friends. Spiderman was the theme!
